St. Patrick’s Day

Narrator: Hello, everybody. Traditionally, in March, we want to tell you about St. Patrick’s Day.
It is an Irish holiday but people celebrate it in every place where Irish people live.
When people think about Saint Patrick’s day , they always think of the green colour and shamrocks because these are the emblems of Ireland. Today at school we have some Irish kids and they can tell you more about St. Patrick.
Narrator: Hello, how are you?
Kid 1: Fine, thank you. And you?
Narrator: Fine, thanks. How do you celebrate this special festival?
Kid 1: It is just great! It is a day off. We celebrate all day. We have parades and concerts. People wear green clothes and sing in the streets. We eat traditional food and drink green drinks.
Narrator: What do you do to people who don’t wear green clothes?
Kid 2: Well, we can pinch them. ( demonstruje)
Narrator: Is your country a nice place to live?
Kid 1: Yes, Ireland is very beautiful. We have cliffs and hills, seas and lakes and a lot of old monuments - everything people like. You must see it yourself.
Narrator: Maybe one day... Is your country a member of the European Union?
Kid 2: Yes, of course. And because of this a lot of people from Poland come to live in Ireland. They can find a good job easily.
Narrator: And now - tell us why do you still remember St. Patrick ? He lived a long time ago...
Kid 1: Just listen. ( opowiada historię życia św. Patryka, w tym czasie inni uczniowie przedstawiają opisywane wydarzenia w formie pantomimy)
St. Patrick was born in Wales in a rich family. He lived in Roman times. One day , when he was 16 , some Irish people kidnapped him. He became a slave and had to look after sheep. After 5 years he ran away and studied religion in Wales. Then, as a priest, he decided to come back to Ireland and teach people about God. He founded churches and schools and helped people to be better. He was a hero and became a saint patron of our country. He made Ireland a modern place.

Meeting the Loch Ness Monster

NARRATOR : It`s 17th of March and we are starting an expedition in Scotland. Two boys from school nr 5 from Koszalin are looking for the famous Loch Ness monster.
Wow, we are somewhere in the mountains. The monster lives in the lake. We want to talk with him and, if possible, take some pictures .
Student 1 : It’s gloomy and wet. I can’t see any monster. Let’s have a sandwich..
Student 2: Look! Something is swimming in the water. Gee, it’s moving in our direction! Hi, hello, can you hear us?
Narrator: The monster is really huge and not very friendly, but the boys are coming to him. They love challenges.
Monster: GRRR...
Narrator: The boys aren’t panicking. They are trying to communicate with the monster.
Student 1: Take it easy, man. We just want to talk.
Monster: - Talk? All right, but quickly. I’m busy and hungry.
Student 2: Ok, so we’ve got something for you. Help yourself.
( Chłopcy częstują potwora kanapką)
Monster: Yummy yummy, delicious. Where do you have it from?
Student 1: We are from Poland. And you? Where do you live?
MONSTER: Here in Loch Ness . I love this place.
Student 2: Do you emit fire?
MONSTER: Sometimes, when I’m very angry. Or excited. Just look
( Potwór demonstruje buchający ogień)
Student 1 : Wow, that’s totally amazing. Can you teach us?
Monster : No way, it is my secret. Only monsters know it.
Student 2: Do you drink coffee?
Monster: Not really. But I like tea. And coke, of course
( Chłopcy podają potworowi puszkę coca coli)
Student 1 : Take this, it’s for you. Do you have any friends ?
Monster: Yes, they are called Benny and Bobby. We play sports together here. They are monsters , too.
Student 2: And have you got a wife?
Monster: Not yet, but I’m still looking for a perfect girl.
Student 1: You must see the girls from our class. Klaudia and Kamila. They are great!
( Chłopcy pokazują zdjęcia)
Monster: They are really beautiful. I love Polish girls! But I’m afraid they won’t like me...

Student 2: Don’t give up. Girls like strong guys. What do you eat?

Monster: Sometimes fish, sometimes goats. I love hunting. Do you want to try? Our mountains are very exciting!
Boys: Of course! We`d love to. Take us with you!
(W najlepszej komitywie udają się na polowanie)

Narrator: And so they spent the day together hunting and admiring the panorama of the Scottish highlands.

ANIMALS IN AUSTRALIA

ABORYGEN ( wchodzi energicznie na scenę , rozgląda się) : Is anybody here? Oh, I can see a lot of people around. But it is my land! I’m an aboriginal. My dears, we are in Australia. The smallest continent.. We live upside down here.
(Wbiegają żywiołowe psy dingo, walczą o zdobycz)
Dingo dog 1: Give the rabbit back to me. It’s mine. I got it!
Dingo dog 2: No, it’s mine. Go away!
ABORYGEN: The dingo dogs are always noisy. Stop it! People are looking at you.
Dogs: But we are just playing. And you? Are you hunting now?
ABORYGEN: No, not now. Today I’m relaxing. And I’m practicing with the boomerang.
( Wchodzi kangur)
Kangaroo: Hello, guys. What’s up?
Dogs: Hi, kangaroo. Nothing special. Just look at you. You are taller and taller every day.
Kangaroo: Well, I’m about 2 meters tall and I weigh about 60 kilos. And I can jump 9 meters if I want.
ABORYGEN: Really? So what do you eat ? You look so strong and fit!
Kangaroo: Just grass, leaves and fruit. I’m a vegetarian.
Dogs: Incredible! Let’s test your power.
( Zwierzęta mocują się. Pojawia się zaspany koala)
Koala: Bad boys, they are always fighting and shouting. They can wake the dead. And I’m so sleepy... and tired...
Dog 1 : Wait! What’s in the bushes ? I can hear something strange...
Koala: I’m afraid it is something really nasty and frightening..
( Zza krzaków wychodzi krokodyl)
Crocodile: Are you talking about me? My name’s Dundee, Crocodile Dundee.
Dog 2: No, no, you are ok. You are unusual, amazing and... just perfect. But, please. Don’t come too close .
Crocodile: Don’t worry. I had a delicious dinner yesterday. Now I need somebody to talk to. Sometimes I feel so unhappy...
Animals together: Don’t be sad. Let’s play together. Join our company.
( Zwierzęta bawią się i śpiewają na melodię piosenki In the jungle:

In the desert, the mighty desert the kangaroo appears ...
In the river, the mighty river the crocodile awakes...
In the desert , the mighty desert all animals are friends...
