Time: 45 minutes
Subject: At the funfair

Aims of the lesson:
• My learners play a game 'What's different?'
• My learners will use vocabulary connected with means of transport
• My learners can ask and answer questions: Does he/she like...? Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn't
• My learners are able to repeat the chant
Assumed knowledge:
• Ss know several words connected with means of transport
• Ss know how to cooperate during the game: What's different?
Anticipated problems:
• Ss may not be able to ask proper questions in the game What's different?
New vocabulary:
• Means of transport: bus, car, plane, train, rocket, car.
New grammar:
• Grammar structure: Does he/she like...? Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn't
Teaching aids:
• Flashcards of means of transport adapted from Teacher's Recourse Pack Stardust 3 by Alison Blair and Jane Cadwallder, Oxford University Press, 2006.
• The book and the activity book used: Stardust 3 by Alison Blair

Procedure

Revision of the previous lesson( 5 min)
Step 1
T revises vocabulary from the pervious lesson. Ss are asked to listen to the action rhyme "Robot gym" (Appendix 3A) and say it.

Presentation ( 15 min)
Step 1
T raises his/her book and says: Open your books at page 34 (Appendix 3B). Ss look
at the pictures presenting a short story. T asks Ss :Who can you see? (Zap, Zeeta Penguin, and Robodog) . Where are they? (At the funfair). T explains the events
in the story briefly and Ss must predict what will happen next. Then Ss listen to a story.
Step 2
T says: Listen, number, and write (Appendix 3C). Ss task is to choose and write
an suitable means of transport to each picture. Then, Ss have to number the pictures
in appropriate order.
Step 3
Ss are asked to look at the funfair at the picture and decide where Zap, Zeeta, Cameron, Silvia and Ben are. Then they have to fill the gaps (Appendix 3C) .

Practice ( 23min)
Step 1
T pins up flashcards (Appendix 3D) and introduces new words: boat, train, car, plane, rocket and bus. Then Ss play the game : What's missing?. T pins up flashcards
on the blackboard and asks Ss to close their eyes. Next he/she gets one card off. Ss open their eyes and say which card is missing.
Step 2
Ss are asked to repeat the chant (Appendix 3E).
Step 3
Ss play the game : What's different? (Appendix 3F). Ss are divided into pairs.
One S from a pair chooses one name from the screen at the picture, for instance, Ben. Another S from a pair tries to find out what character was chosen by asking questions what Ben likes (a happy face) and dislikes (a sad face), for example: Does he like
a boat ride? Does he like the train ride? ( Yes, he does/ No, he doesn't). S who guesses the name has a score.

Homework ( 2 min)
Ss are asked to write in their notebooks 3 sentences which begin with: 'I like ...' . Sentences should include means of transport which Ss have already known.
