The aims of the lesson:
- Ss will learn the form of positive and negative sentences in Present Perfect,
- Ss will learn to talk about actions that began in the past and still continue,
- Ss will revise the third form of the verb and the vocabulary connected with experience.

Level: pre-intermediate
Materials: blackboard, chalk, CD, pictures, handouts

Lesson procedure:
Introduction:
Greeting

Presentation:
Pic kup Picture (app.1,2) once at time. Point to each picture and say an appropriate sentence.
Put some of the examples on the board. Briefly discuss the differences in meaning of the form you have.
The students repeat these sentences chorally or individually. Then give students opportunity to speak, move around and ask them: How long have you known each other?
Play the CD. Explain the students that they have to listen to the dialogue. It is the job interview. Ask students: Do you think she will get the job ? Why/Why not? Then give students handouts (app.3) Allow studentssome time to go over the dialogue. Students fill in the missing words. Play the CD again and check the ans wers.
Say, then write on the board:
I have lived in Kraków for five years.
I have lived there Since 2002.
Students repeat choralny. Explain that this tense is the present perfect. Show how the affirmative of regular verbs is formed.

Practice:
Act.1 Question and answer grill (app4) Ask students questions. They try to answer using time expression: since, for and the correct structure of the present perfect tense.
Act.2 Students do exercise 1 from their handouts (app.5)
Act. 3 Students do exercise 2 putting the verbs into Present Perfect (app.6)
Production:
Give students handouts with cues ”Find someone who ...” (app. 7). Encourage students to move around the class and talk to their friends using the prompts given. Finally check the answers.
