Klasa 3 c gr. 2 – podstawowa
Data: 01.02.2013
Ogólny zarys: Druga z pięciu lekcji, gdzie tematyka wybuchów wulkanów oraz ochrony środowiska w tym oszczędzania i marnowania zasobów naturalnych i energii, posłużą do poznania budowy zdań warunkowych oraz utrwalenia słownictwa związanego z tymi zagadnieniami.
( Lesson Overview: This is the second of the five lessons where the issues of volcanic eruption, the environment along with the problems of saving or wasting resources and energy will create the ground to introduce the pattern of First Conditional )

Cele lekcji
• Uczniowie utrwalą słownictwo, za pomocą którego będą mogli wypowiadać się na temat skutków wybuchu superwulkanu.
• Poznają kolokacje słów: save, waste, run, meet z naciskiem na funkcje zdaniowe rzeczowników im towarzyszących - podmiotu, lub dopełnienia.
• Będą umieli poprawnie rozpoznać części zdania w zdaniach warunkowych I – szego typu.
(Lesson Objectives
Students will be able to:
• talk about the effects of a supervolcano eruption;
• discern which nouns collocate as a subject or an object with the following verbs: save, waste, run;
• analyze the pattern of the First Conditional.)

Materiały:
Makieta wulkanu z zapachem siarki, tablica, kopie ćwiczeń dla uczniów z zadaniem domowym, paski papieru z podzielonymi zdaniami do złożenia, ksero tabeli do analizy budowy zdania warunkowego I-go typu. Podręcznik Access 2
Materials:
The model of a volcano with the scent of sulphur to be obtained by burning few matches, blackboard, handouts with exercises and suggested homework, strips of paper with sentences to be matched, handouts with the table to analyze the pattern of the First Conditional. Students Book Access 2

Plan lekcji (Lesson Plan)
Rozgrzewka 10 min.
Uczniowie identyfikują zapach siarki w klasie uzyskany przez wcześniejsze spalenie kilku zapałek.
Nauczyciel pomaga skojarzyć zapach z efektami wybuchu wulkanu i przypomnieć inne zjawiska towarzyszące wybuchowi pomocą modelu wulkanu.
Warm up
Students identify the smell of sulphur and talk about the other effects of a volcanic eruption.
Zgadywanie
Połowa uczniów otrzymuje wydruki ze słowami: earthquake, ash, lava, magma, to erupt, a druga połowa – definicje tych słów. Uczniowie odczytują definicje, pozostali, odgadują co się pod nimi kryje.
Guess Work
Half of the students get the worksheets with the following words: earthquake, ash, lava, magma, to erupt; the other half with the definitions. Students read the definitions aloud so that the others can match these definitions to the words.
Prezentacja cz. 1 5 min.
Nauczyciel wyjaśnia znaczenie czasowników save, waste i meet oszczędzać, marnować, spotykać, a uczniowie starają się odgadnąć rzeczowniki, które występują w zdaniach jako ich dopełnienia i zapisują je na tablicy w postaci diagramu jak poniżej. Nauczyciel dodaje słowo a condition (warunek) i wyjaśnia znaczenie związku frazeologicznego „ to meet a condition” spełniać warunek. Podobnie, proponują jakie rzeczowniki mogą pojawić się przed czasownikiem run biegać w funkcji podmiotu. Nauczyciel dodaje do tych propozycji rzeczownik tap kran i wyjaśnia znaczenie opisowo.
Cel: przypomnienie funkcji rzeczownika w zdaniu

Presentation, part 1
Teacher explains the meaning of the verbs “save” ,” waste”, ”meet” students suggest possible collocations with the nouns as the objects (verb-noun collocations) and write their suggestions on the blackboard in form of a diagram. The teacher adds the collocation “to meet a condition” and explains the meaning. Similarly, they guess what nouns can precede the verb “run” as subjects (noun-verb collocations). Teacher adds the word “tap” to the list and explains the meaning.
Purpose: to improve the recognition of different functions of a noun in a sentence.

Prezentacja cz. 2 10 min.
Nauczyciel zapisuje w tabeli zdanie, przypomina znaczenie słowa „warunek i zdanie warunkowe 1-szego typu”. (condition i the First Conditional). Uczniowie rozpoznają części zdania i czasy oraz porównują z językiem polskim. Analizują znaczenie, by dojść do wniosku, że zdanie podrzędne przedstawia warunek, a nadrzędne – rezultat i że jest realna możliwość, że warunek zaistnieje.
Cel: analiza budowy zdania warunkowego 1-szego typu.

Presentation, part 2
Teacher draws a table, writes a sentence as below and explains the word “condition” and “First Conditional”. The students elicit parts of the sentence with their functions. Students are asked to compare the tense of the verb in “if” clause to Polish language. They also analyze the meaning to come to the conclusion that “if –clause introduces a condition while the main clause – a result. There is a real possibility that the condition will be met.
Purpose: to analyze the structure and the meaning of First Conditional

Tabela: CONDITION R E S U L T
If Subject Verb-Present Simple Object,
Subject Will/Can/May Verb-infinitive Object
If someone or something meets a condition, something will happen -----------
Jeśli ktoś lub coś spełni warunek
coś się wydarzy -----------

Zastosowanie w praktyce 15 min
Część uczniów otrzymuje zdania nadrzędne a część podrzędne ze zdań warunkowych. Ich zadaniem jest skompletować całe zdania, nauczyć się ich na pamięć i zapisać w tabeli.
Cel: Utrwalić budowę zdań warunkowych.

Practice
Students get strips of paper with the halves of conditional sentences to be matched. They are asked to memorize the complete sentence and write it in the table.
Purpose: to consolidate the structure of First Conditional
The sentences to be cut and matched:

If a supervolcano erupts, the climate will change.
If we don’t leave the taps running, we will save water.
If we leave our lights on, we will waste energy.
If you turn off the lights, you will save energy.
If we don’t buy products from endangered species, we will help them survive.
If we don’t waste paper, we will save many trees.
If we stop cutting down forests, animals won’t lose their habitat.
If Toba erupts. the dust and gas will block out the sun.

Zadanie domowe 5 min.
Z rozdanych materiałów zadanie 2 i 3 obowiązkowo. Zad. 4 nadobowiązkowe. Nauczyciel wyjaśnia jak wykonać zadania i sprawdza, czy uczniowie zrozumieli.
Cel: praktyczne, pisemne zastosowanie umiejętności budowy zdań warunkowych
